3. Intellectual Property Rights

• Unless otherwise stated, Generational Archives owns the intellectual property rights for all material on the Site, including video footage, audio recordings, transcripts, and the “Wisdom Index.”

• You may view and print pages from the Site for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to restrictions set in these terms. You must not republish, sell, or duplicate our archive material without express written consent.

4. User-Generated Content & Nominations

When you submit a story or nominate a senior through our Site:

• You agree to provide truthful and accurate biographical information.

• By submitting a nomination or story, you grant Generational Archives a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and distribute that information in connection with the archive’s mission.

5. Contributor Agreements (Interviewees)

Participation in an interview is governed by a separate Interviewee Release Form. That document grants Generational Archives the definitive rights to the likeness and voice of the participant for the purpose of historical preservation and media distribution.

6. External Links & Partners

The Site contains links to third-party websites (e.g., Ancestry.com, MyHeritage). We are not responsible for the content or practices of these external sites. These links are provided for your convenience and do not signify an endorsement.

7. Limitation of Liability

Generational Archives and its creators shall not be held liable for any damages arising out of or in connection with your use of this Site. This includes, without limitation, direct loss, loss of business or profits, or damage caused to your computer software or data.

8. Transfer of Agreement (Exit Clause)

In the event of a sale, merger, or acquisition of Generational Archives, we reserve the right to transfer all rights, assets, and user data to the acquiring entity. This agreement will remain binding upon the new owner.
